Satyendar Jain, Ex-DJB CEO Udit Prakash Rai Arrested

On August 18, 2026, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain and former Delhi Jal Board (DJB) CEO Udit Prakash Rai are among six people arrested by the Delhi Anti-Corruption Bureau for alleged corruption in Jal Board tendering processes for a sewage treatment plant (STP). The Delhi Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said in a statement that the other accused arrested are Ankit Srivastava, a former contractual consultant with DJB, and Nagendra Yadav, Raja Kumar and Pankaj Verma.

ED Names Rai in DJB Case

Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigated the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) tender case and filed a prosecution chargesheet against AAP leader Satyendar Kumar Jain and former Delhi Jal Board (DJB) CEO Udit Prakash Rai. ACB FIR Flags DJB STP Tender Irregularities

Delhi ACB chief Vikramjit Singh said in a statement, “The investigation further revealed non-conduct of the proposed pilot study, inclusion of restrictive conditions relating to the technology/media to be used, exclusion of essential parameters of treated effluent and changes in technical specifications which allegedly resulted in significant financial implications for the government exchequer.”

An Indian Politician, architect and former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader who served as Delhi’s Minister of Health, Home, Power and Public Works Department (PWD). He has been heavily marked by high-profile corruption and money-laundering arrests.

He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in May 2022 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) regarding alleged hawala transactions linked to shell companies from 2015-16.
