Women's Asia Cup Kicks Off In Dubai

As August draws to a close, cricket's attention shifts to Dubai for the tenth edition of the Women's Asia Cup, running from August 28 to September 13. Eight teams will battle it out entirely at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, with the standout fixture arriving early, India taking on arch-rivals Pakistan on September 5. India will be the favourites as they won the last seven title in the previous nine editions of Asian Cup. However, defending champions Sri Lanka, who beat them in the 2024 final at Dambulla, will be determined to hold onto the crown they only recently took away.

How are The Groups Divided?

The Women's Asia Cup 2026 will commence on Aug 28, 2026 in the UAE. UAE has been chosen as the host country for the tournament. UAE will host eight teams, divided into two groups. Group A has India, Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong in it, and Group B has defending champion Sri Lanka alongside Bangladesh, host UAE and Indonesia, who will also arrive as first-timers after qualifying for the competition.

Group A is expected to attract viewership as a result of adding two Asian giants in the same pool, India and Pakistan, the rivalry most likely to be ignited again; furthermore, we will be able to watch a good game of cricket.

Why Does This Edition Carry Extra Weight?

India have won seven titles in the nine previous editions, making them the strongest contender for the glory on September 13. The only edition in which India failed to lift the trophy was the last one, when Sri Lanka beat them in the final at Dambulla to lift their maiden Women’s Asia Cup title.
