Lewis Hamilton Claims Historic First Ferrari Win in Barcelona Heat

At the formation lap in Barcelona every driver trying to take it easy, trying not to take any life out of their tyres. Warm up was not an issue but management certainly will be. Race at Barcelona started with George Russel at P1, Lewis Hamilton at P2 and Kimi Antonelli at P3.
Russell makes a great start to maintain the lead while Hamilton chops across to cut Antonelli which stalls his progress, it was now Antonelli and Norris alongside into the first lap. Leclerc who started at P10 was already up 3 places and in P7.
Track temperature was 50 degree Celsius at just Lap 3, which could cause tyre degradation a lot faster. Russell on medium tyres had a 2 second lead on Hamilton who was on soft tyres with Antonelli behind him.
Hadjar started 6th got bogged down because of engine problems and difficult start procedure, dropped down to 13th place by the end of opening lap. Lance Stroll pits at Lap 7, is wheeled into the garage and out of the race due to gearbox failure. Back to Hadjar who had a bad start, trying to fight his way back was now right behind Lindblad in the fight for P10.

At the top Russell who was making a progress was now 3 seconds clear of Hamilton but the same cannot be said for everyone, as Norris radioed saying, he is sliding everywhere and Verstappen also radioed saying he is struggling with tyres as they were wobbling even on straights. Russell soon started losing another second of performance from his best lap as his tyres were going away quickly.
Hamilton pits in Lap 12, swaps to hard tyres and comes out in front of Hulkenberg and behind his team mate and Piastri in P7, in time to get clean air. Soon Russell and Verstappen pit, Russell initially at P1 drops down to P5 and soon had radioed saying, "I was managing, you could have given me the heads up. You've exposed me to Antonelli", as Mercedes too asked Antonelli to pit as well in Lap 15.
As Antonelli pits it was now Leclerc at P1, Russell at P2 and Hamilton at P3. Leclerc was asked to pit in Lap 16 to cover Piastri, but the driver denied by saying we don't care about Piastri, harsh yet true if he wanted to chase the podium today but eventually pits in Lap 17 and gets in front of Piastri with Russell back in the lead.
Bottas too retired at Lap 17, facing issue with his Cadillac. Every driver today will be chasing for 3 stop pit-stop and their tyre life. Russell, Hamilton and Antonelli back in the positions in which they started the race in.
Current track temperature 51 degree Celsius and Russell finding it hard to drop Hamilton with the gap of 1.9 seconds with Antonelli also starting to chase back. Traffic will soon effect as Russell catches up to Alonso who is last at P20.
Now all you need is a yellow or red flag and the race will turn around. Russell now leads with 2.8 seconds ahead Hamilton and passes Perez at Lap 27, but facing difficulties with his front tyres as they feel a bit weak and underbalanced.

At Lap 28 Hamilton pits and swaps to mediums hinting a three-stop, will Mercedes cover him off or leave Russell out?
At Lap 30 Russell is told that Hamilton is locked to three-stops but as they are still racing Norris, so need to keep up those lap times. while Antonelli gets a black and white flag for track limits but that does not stop him as both Mercedes fight for P1. Hulkenberg retired in Lap 32 due to Power unit issue and promotes Gasly into P10.
If the Mercedes drivers continue fighting it will play right into Ferrari's favour, but Antonelli soon reminded of his track limit or he will get a 5-second penalty and was asked to not take any risks. The pit stops playing to Hamilton's advantage as he was quickly catching up to Mercedes and Norris. At Lap 36 Norris pits and gets out of Hamilton's way.
Russell pits but this will bite Antonelli as he only had one pit stop. At top 5 it was now Antonelli, Hamilton, Leclerc, Russell and Norris. Antonelli pits and gets behind his team mate with Hamilton at P1 now. At Lap 40, Russell passes Leclerc at P2 soon Leclerc pits and drops in P6.
Russell is informed by his team that they as forecasting a battle with Hamilton at the end of the race. Virtual Safety Car (VSC) is out at Lap 41 as Alonso has stopped and is in the grass. The VSR can give Hamilton a chance for a cheap pit stop and does so in the next lap as he pits and maintains the lead.
Hamilton leads by 3 seconds ahead of Russell who has Antonelli on his tail with Norris in P4, Verstappen in P5, Leclerc in P6 then comes Piastri, Hadjar, Gasly and Colapinto. At Lap 47, Hamilton continues to build the gap between him and Russell. Albon who seemed to retire, had un-retired in Lap 49 and came back out 8 laps down.

Norris is informed at Lap 51 that Antonelli ahead has black and white flag and is encouraged to finish 5-second of his rival, but also see if he can pressure him into a mistake as he is behind 1.3 seconds Antonelli. While Russell is asked to pick up the pace or will have to swap with his team mate.
If Antonelli gets penalty he will lose P3, so that's why Mercedes should swap places with Antonelli, for him to pull the gap, but at the same time it could lead to a risky strategy built on ifs and buts for Russell. 10 Laps remaining and Hamilton leads with a gap of 11 seconds. Ferrari have also brought upgrades here and have certainly worked wonders.
Antonelli having a hard time hanging on struggling with neck strength, but Hamilton looks fresh as a daisy, charges towards his first Ferrari win. Antonelli just seven tenth behind his teammate and passes Russell as he struggles with traction. Fighting for P2 Russell pushes Antonelli wide as he almost dips a wheel on the grass but does not yield and takes P2.
Antonelli clears with 1.2 seconds ahead of Russell but luck not being on his side this round, something goes wrong and Antonelli stops due to sudden electrical shutdown like it happened with Russell in Canada GP. Yellow flags are out with a VSC which would have negated Hamilton of his advantage.
During the VSC Leclerc also seems to have a problem, as he has been off and through the gravel, informing the loss of his power steering. With Antonelli and Leclerc out of the race the top 5 were - Hamilton, Russell, Norris, Verstappen, Piastri. VSC ended at Lap 65, commencing the race again with Hamilton leading with nearly 19 seconds and charges at the last lap chasing his first victory with Ferrari.
