Spider-Man: Brand New day crosses ₹400 cr, replacing Soldier 2, becomes the highest grossing Hollywood movie in India

In the words of Black Widow’s sister Yelena Belova herself “This is some big potato stuff”, as the Spider Man: Brand New Day starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man aka Peter Parker and Zendaya as MJ became the second highest grossing Hollywood film in India crossing 400 Cr. Previously the record was held by ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ (2022) with a total collection of 384.80 Cr in India.
AdvertisementBrand New Day is part of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. In the film Peter Parker (Tom Holland) lives entirely on his own as Spider-Man because the world, his girlfriend MJ (Zendaya) and his best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) doesn’t remember him.
Between balancing his personal life and saving New York City from crimes, Spider-Man comes across the villain who seems to have psychic powers at first. Spider-Man's DNA is mutating, he is changing into an uncontrollable “monster”.

Tom Holland’s fourth solo film opened at ₹60cr net in India which is the best opening by a Hollywood film in the country. The first weekend of the film grossed ₹254cr net in the country.
The opening weekend of Brand-New Day was at par with blockbuster movies like ‘Pathan’ and ‘Animal’. Now with $53 million gross it seems to be on the path to break ‘Avengers: Endgame's’ mark of $61 million which is the highest collection by any Hollywood film in India.
